Oil Painting Anne-Marie-Louise Thélusson Comtesse de Sorcy from Jacques-Louis David - Buy hand painted oil reproduction - In the first period of the Revolution David continued to paint portraits of the cultivated upper classes and aristocracy. In 1790 a year of social calm he had painted the Marquise d Orvilliers and the Countess de Sorcy. These two women were the Rilliet sisters Robertine and Anne-Marie-Louise who had both married rich and titled husbands and David shows them dignified and at ease wearing the simple fashions of the day.

Oil Painting Portrait of Jacques-François Desmaisons from Jacques-Louis David - Buy hand painted oil reproduction - After the death of his father following a pistol duel in December 1757 aged thirty-five David was placed successively in the care of two uncles François Buron (1731-1818) and Jacques-Francois Desmaisons (c. 1720-1789) who were both architects and building contractors.

Oil Painting Portrait of Philippe-Laurent de Joubert from Jacques-Louis David - Buy hand painted oil reproduction - Philippe-Laurent de Joubert (1729-1792) was an important figure in Montpellier an art collector and founding member of the Société des beaux-arts in Montpellier in 1779. His portrait by Jacques-Louis David was probably executed in 1786 on the occasion of his election as member of the Académie de peinture et de sculpture in Paris.
